In 2019 fan zones for the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition will be for the first time opened in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and other cities.

On those sites people will be able to watch all stages of audition, cheer for competitors, participate in discussions or share their impressions with others. Moreover, guests of any fan zone will be able to visit retrospective exhibitions or attend musicological lectures. The fan zones in Moscow and Saint Petersburg are fully ready for opening. They are organized at the Russian National Music Museum, Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Moscow Museum in Moscow and the Academic Glinka Capella in Saint Petersburg.

Apart from the fan zones and the world’s leading classical music channel medici.tv, all competition events will be webcast on the cultural heritage portal Культура.РФ, on www.meloman.ru, in the All-Russian Virtual Concert Hall, and in foreign centers for Russian culture. The All-Russian Virtual Concert Hall project was developed on the basis of the Moscow Philharmonic to give new opportunities to regional citizens. Over 500 philharmonics, houses of culture and libraries will televise all competition events on big screens all over the country. The webcasting schedule is published on the website of the Moscow Philharmonic. Moreover, this year all performances will be televised by representative offices of Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russisches Haus des Wissenschaft und Kultur in Berlin and the Centre de Russie pour la science et la culture à Paris.

New channels will considerably increase the audience and give the viewers all over the world a sense of being involved into the greatest music competition. By the way, over 10 million of webcasts of events at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition were viewed on medici.tv in 2015.
