Alexander Kantorov and Anastasia Kobekina will perform at the Denis Matsuev's anniversary festival in Perm
From March 19 to March 22, the X International Festival of Denis Matsuev will be held in the halls of the Perm Regional Philharmonic. The 2020 program will present a variety of musical genres: from classical music to jazz.
Festival participants will include opera singer Hibla Gerzmava, violinist from Latvia Kristin Balanas and winners of the XVIth International Tchaikovsky Competition: winner of the I prize and Grand Prix of the Competition Alexander Kantorov (piano) and laureate of the III prize in the “cello” category Anastasia Kobekina.
Alexander Kantorov will perform in Perm for the first time. Accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan, under the direction of the famous conductor, People's Artist of Russia Alexander Sladkovsky, he will perform Concert No. 5 for piano and orchestra in F major (“Egyptian”) by Camille Saint-Saens.
Anastasia Kobekina will perform "Variations on the Rococo Theme for Cello and Orchestra" by Tchaikovsky - a work that brought her victory in the finals of the XVI International Competition named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.
Also, the festival program will be attended by Honored Artist of Russia, pianist Boris Petrushansky (Russia-Italy), jazz trumpeter, saxophonist
Valery Ponomarev (USA) and vocalist Shenda Rule (USA).
